* Foamed Wool pads are more aggressive than Orange Power Pads and Yellow Foam Compounding Pads. They cut like natural sheepskin to quickly remove paint defects yet finish like a foam polishing pad. Follow-up polishing with a finishing polish is usually not required (dark color paints may require some polishing). * The foamed fibers resist caking and matting. Compounds and polishes rest on the foam layer allowing the operator to work the pad longer before it dries out. * The pads are woven using a lambswool yarn to a uniform and consistent density without any "hot spots". Natural sheepskin pads, because they are natural hides, have areas where the fibers are more densely packed. These "hot spot" areas cut more aggressively than the rest of the pad which can increase compounding haze. * Minimal linting. The foaming process locks in the lambswool fibers significantly reducing linting. Caveats, Tips and Product Recommendations: * Foamed Wool Pads are designed for circular machine polishers and true, dual-action machines like the Makita BO6040 and Flex XC3401VRG. Foamed Wool Pads are not recommended for machines that "jiggle" like the Porter Cable 7424 * If using a circular machine polisher, keep the speed between 900 and 1200 rpm. Always start at 900 rpm. If using the Flex XC3401VRG or Makita BO6040, keep the speed dial between 2 and 3. * Mist fresh pads once with a Foam Pad Lubricant to prevent dry-pad burn. * When reusing a washed pad, lightly brush with a stainless steel brush or grab pad by the edge and slap against your palm to fluff the pad fibers. Proper Pad Cleaning: Soiled pads can be washed using the SYSTEM 2000 Pad Washer or hand washed in a bucket of water with Snappy Clean Pad Cleaner. Rinse. Wrap pad in a cotton towel and wring out excess water. Allow pad to air dry. Do not machine wash or machine dry.
